Biking Continued

Woke up this morning with very little desire to go on a bike ride, my bed was soft and my brain lazy. I needed a power boost and so I did what I haven't done once since I have been here, I went American on myself. I ate eggs, bacon, toast and had a cup of coffee for breakfast. YUM!!! after that I was ready to roll and I was glad that I got my lazy butt in gear. The other guy in the photo is Victor my bike mentor and roommate.

Me just outside of the old part of Caceres.

Old Roman bridge for bikes, horses and walkers only

What a beautiful day!!!!

Biking around Extremadura

I never thought it would happen, but yes, I have officially worn Spandex. I blame my roommate Victor for having an extra Spandex laying around. The worse part of it all is that it makes biking a whole lot more enjoyable, unfortunately I can't get over how goofy it looks. Biking in Extremadura is great as you get to see olive trees, white washed houses, lost villages and orange tress all accompanied by great weather.

Pau Gasol

Basketball is Spain's second most popular sport, first being soccer of course. There are four or so Spaniards who play in the NBA, Pau Gasol from Barcelona being the most popular of the group. The Spanish are very proud of these individuals. The recent move of Pau Gasol from The Grizzles to the Lakers is big news around these parts. I really like Gasol, but as I am from Seattle Supersonics fan I am not allowed to like the Lakers.
