Sunday in Guadalupe

Guadalupe is famous for several things: its beautiful monastary, its wooden balcones on its stone houses and for morcilla.

The Royal Monastery of Santa Maria de Guadalupe. Initially built in the 13th Century.

Yummy morcila!! better known to Americans as black pudding or blood sausage. The Spanish verison is usually made with pork blood and fat, rice, onions and salt. Grab yourself a table in the plaza (beware of fat and hungry pigeons) with a view of the Monastary, order some delicious morcilla, a glass of wine/or beer and throw in a sunny 64 degree day in January and presto!!! that is me last Sunday.
